Celebrate Japan at the Château de Saint-Germain-Du-Plain
On Saturday 23 May 2026, the Château de Saint-Germain-Du-Plain will open its doors for its first annual cultural festival: the Festival of Asian Cultures – A Day in Japan

Asian Cultures Festival – A Day in Japan
which will take place on Saturday 23 May 2026 from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm
at the Château de Saint-Germain-Du-Plain
PROGRAM
Music & Concerts
The percussion section of the Pousses de Bambou Orchestra (conducted by Makoto Yabuki) and a prestigious quartet led by Johan Farjot and Hugh Coltman.
Performances & Lectures
Kamishibai paper theatre and Byôbu storytelling with Hiromi Asaï, travel tales with Japan Kudasai, and a lecture on the Franponais by Martin B.
Workshops & Activities
Ikebana flower arranging, introductory sessions to manga (led by Mr Lebestiau & Kuran Design), Shiatsu, the game of Go and martial arts.
Gastronomy
Sake tastings hosted by Olivier, pastries and sweet treats courtesy of the Manga-T Tea Room in Dijon, and Japanese cuisine
Exhibitions
Themed photographs in the heart of our Japanese garden, Nihon Ga paintings by Julia Genet.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION & HOW TO GET THERE
The château is located 20 minutes from Chalon-sur-Saône and Tournus.
By car: Take the A6 exit for Chalon Sud or Tournus. Free car parks are available in the town, directly opposite the castle entrance and in the surrounding area.
By train: TGV stations at Chalon-sur-Saône, Le Creusot TGV or Mâcon-Loché.
Registration: Entry to the park is free and open to all.
Please note that capacity is limited, as is the number of places available for workshops and talks.
