CEFJ Meeting – Franco-Japanese Exchange Committee

CEFJ Meeting

The East-West Cultural Exchange Centre is hosting a delegation from the Franco-Japanese Exchange Committee

A gathering at the Château de Saint-Germain-Du-Plain

On February 17, 2026, the Château de Saint-Germain-du-Plain was delighted to welcome Ms Noriko Carpentier Tominaga, General Delegate of the Franco-Japanese Exchange Committee (CEFJ), as well as Mr Pierre de Laroche, the organisation’s treasurer and advisor, for a meeting and discussion focused on the development of the future East-West Cultural Exchange Centre.

This visit provided an opportunity to engage in an in-depth discussion about our shared project: strengthening cultural, intellectual and human ties between France and Japan, and more broadly between the East and the West.

The discussions were particularly fruitful and constructive. They have helped to identify several avenues for collaboration and to envisage future events that could bring together artists, thinkers, business leaders and institutional representatives around joint initiatives. Ils ont permis d’identifier plusieurs pistes de collaboration et d’imaginer de futurs événements susceptibles de réunir artistes, penseurs, acteurs économiques et représentants institutionnels autour d’initiatives communes.

The East-West Cultural Exchange Centre is set to become a member of the CEFJ

We are particularly honoured to announce that the East-West Cultural Exchange Centre will soon be joining the CEFJ network, thereby helping to strengthen the links between our two organisations.

Founded in 1997, the Franco-Japanese Exchange Committee is now one of the leading bicultural professional networks within the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For over twenty-five years, it has brought together a dynamic community of more than 150 companies operating in France and Japan, spanning a wide range of sectors.

The CEFJ regularly organises conferences, forums and professional networking events to encourage dialogue within the Franco-Japanese business community and to foster economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Thanks to its close ties with key institutional partners, including the CCI France Japon, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in France, the French and Japanese embassies, as well as various ministries and local authorities, the CEFJ serves as a key forum for dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.

The event held at the château is fully in line with this spirit of collaborative development and intercultural dialogue. It marks an important milestone in the development of the East-West Cultural Exchange Centre and in the expansion of its network of international partners.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Ms Noriko Carpentier Tominaga and Mr Pierre de Laroche for their visit, their willingness to listen, and the quality of our discussions. We are delighted at the prospects for collaboration that are emerging and the projects we will be able to develop together in the coming months.
